Elfman Strauss is the middle child to the Strauss siblings of Fairy Tail. A powerful wizard on his own right, Elfman has a tendency to be more upfront and physical - direct, if you will, rather than capitalize on tactics or his magic. Having grown up around others of his age group within the guild, Elfman views all of them as his family to protect and help if he can - though no one in his life is more important than his older sister Mirajane and younger sister Lisanna; both serving as the primary motivator for the man to better himself and strive for constant improvement.Right off the bat, it's clear what an eccentric character Elfman is - often spouting what sounds like contextual nonsense to the average joe, about Manliness. In truth, he's obsessed with the concept and image of a real Man. His ideals revolve around becoming and being a paragon of Manliness, in order to have the strength to protect his sisters. His outward appearance may be intimidating or even menacing, between his height, structure and scowl-tending face; and yet, part of 'Being a Man' in his book involves unapologetically serving an example, including and welcoming most others in his endeavors quite freely. Behind that layer of high-energy enthusiasm and bulky figure, lays a kind and sensitive soul that is easily moved to tears and grows to care about others.Elfman's chase after strength and the image of manliness wasn't always a top priority, despite it always being a recurring theme in his journey. An awfully unfortunate incident when he was only 16 years old, taking a unique mission with his two sisters, caused him to overexert his abilities. Elfman possessed the body and mind of the Beast King "The Beast", though the creature proved too much for him. Despite hoping to save his injured sisters under such pressure, lack of control and sufficient power caused him to, in berserker rage, break his older sister's arm and incapacitate her magically for two following years - and worse, cause the direct death of his younger sister. Following that incident, he turned his life around in dire need to uphold his vow: become stronger, become a better Man, become someone who can protect his sister.

Elfman is a wizard from the Fairy Tail guild, a wizard's guild that makes its living off taking requests from numerous sources and people. In regards to his standing, the man is a solid, renowned powerhouse within the guild. While not an S-class wizard - those by themselves crowned few and far between, he's been a candidate to attain said title more than once, and it shows. His magic, Beast Soul Takeover, allows him to literally take over and store in his body the souls and powers of certain beasts and creatures; from storing them in his right arm to fully taking on their form. His proficiency correlates directly with his physical strength, as Elfman's method of meeting the requirements for a Takeover involves mainly coming up and physical with his target; something he adopted into his fighting style very, very clearly. Fact is, his raw strength outdoes mostly everyone amongst his peers, save for only 3 individuals.He doesn't quite present himself as one, though it'd no lie that he too suffers from self-doubt and a constant chase after proper achievement. In fact, it is entirely because he is as kind-hearted that he is, that fear of loss can get the better of him at times, rather than the drive for action. Make no mistake, Elfman is through and through a man of action; one to take the leading leap without further thought, though one can't ignore how gentle his nature indicates him to truly be. From learning how to cook (masterfully) for his fellow orphaned sisters, to fussing and crying over his lost pet when said pet disappeared for a week, Elfman at his core is someone who can get anxious instead of displaying his abilities when things get critical.For a living, he stays true to the guild wizard way of life, and often takes requests from people he meets or gets requested to aid in. From the simplest of tasks to tough life-threatening battles, he's ready to rise to the occasion "as a Man". The Chase after being a True Man is a sticking motif with him that he would forever pursue and preach about - until he gets the inner and outer approval he got where he wants to get. Until then, he will use his giant body, talents and undoubted might to get by.

Captain of the Manly Pirates, Elfman has been on his pirate career for a little over 3 years. He's worth a good leap over 100 million Berry and ate the Sloth Sloth Fruit: Model Megatherium, an ancient Zoan. Elfman comes from the West Blue and evidently has Buccaneer ancestry. Elfman set out to seas to become a strong man and find the true meaning of manlihood, after an unfortunate incident in which he caused the death of his own younger sister... Elfman is a heroic spirit that exists on a foreign plane, and whose code mixed with The Beast from one certain famous fairy tale. Despite the premise, he is summoned as a Berserker - Madness Enhancement taking the effect of his obsessiveness over the concept of Manliness. Though he can be reasoned with, he is through and through - still a Berserker. Elfman has two Noble Phantasms; the first allows the manifestation of beastly powers in his right arm, while the main allows him to assume the form of The Beast... VERSE THREE: HOLLOW SOUL

An Irish Fullbringer, Elfman is spiritually aware but doesn't make much of it. Elfman and his sisters' mother was surprisingly weakly in constitution, but had naturally high spiritual energy - which attracted Hollows more often than not. As such, for the three to be born Fullbringers is a given. Elfman specifically lives detached from his sisters nowadays and somehow finds himself attracting spiritual monstrosities -- only to consume them into his body and assume their powers. This may or may not alert the Soul Society upon a potential rising threat, despite the Fullbringers being brought to light following the undoing of Tokinada Tsunayashiro.

Elfman is a middle child to a family of three orphans; he has an older, and a younger sister. A large man with a proud and manly disposition, but in truth a softy at heart. Elfman takes great pride in his power and endurance in battle, but not so much most other aspects.

Some mishap in Elfman's history caused him to stray away from the guild, most likely in immense feelings of guilt. Opting not to join any guilds for the short while, Elfman travels on his own on a journey of self-discovery and self-mastery. In this verse, he is much less enthusiastic or outwardly energetic - though fragments of who he developed into being in the main series linger. This version of Elfman is much more serious and cautious of his own actions... VERSE SIX: THE SHIFTER

In a fantasy world such as this where multitudes of races exist - people from all across every scale, Elfman comes from a tribe of Shifters, as opposed to Lycans; being able to turn into a monstrous beast and back to human at will. He's a proud creature, outwardly intimidating but honestly kind-hearted and welcoming. While he's pursuing the answer of what it means to be a Man, he may appear a tad dim-witted to the more naturally gifted... VERSE SEVEN: MODERN
